As proprietor and owner of the Hollydale General Country Store, this time of the year is when I start to gather suppliers and sellers for the May to October months when the outlet is open. The premise is simple, all products are brought in and sold by the producer. I simply have someone at the register to collect a 7% fee in all transactions. It's not a cash flow positive operation, but it does prove to be a healthy arena for community and local commerce. The isles are filled with hand made items, farm fresh produce, baked goods from area cooks, and blogging supplies. We also have a two table open air restaurant that serves down home Hollydale recipes from noon to nine PM Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations are recommended.
Ohh, I almost forgot, we also have plenty of live bait for fishing at Hormone Lake just down the road.
To promote from within, and provide a little insight into who will be contributing to this years Grand Opening, I thought it would be prudent to publicize a few of the 2010 vendors. ( I just love that word ... VENDOR ) Let's get - a - vending!
