- JADE-Similarly, the “sympathetic imagination” that comes with connecting with the novel prevents readers from keeping that comfortable distance with the story
- JOSE- For one, to me it is the ultimate medium for which someone can understand the thoughts and view of another person
- EMILY-As I read, I was disturbed by her ability to make these things seem more reasonable just because we were able to get a perspective of the people that did these things
How do we feel about Pecola?
CHRIS- I think that Morrison wants us to feel more than sympathy for Pecola.
